    Creccelius: Johannes C., theologischer Schriftsteller aus der Reformationszeit, 1564—1573 Augustiner im Kloster Hamersleben (Diöcese Halberstadt) und bereits ein Jahr lang Priester, als er sich der Reformation anschloß; elf Jahre Pfarrer in Egenstadt (Asseburgisches Patronat), später in Boltzen (Herzogthum Braunschweig, Münchhausen’sches Patronat), wo er noch 1603 stand. Schriften: „Descriptio et refutatio ceremoniarum gesticulationumque pontificiae Missae etc.“, 1603; „Collectanea ex historiis de origine et fundatione omnium monasticarum ordinum. Cum figg. aen.“, 1614. — Die biographischen Notizen stehen in der Widmung vor der Descriptio.
