Biography
Kapp: Johann Christian K., geb. am 18. Juli 1764 zu Kirchleuß im Kulmbachischen, auf dem Collegium Christian-Ernestinum zu Bayreuth unter der Leitung seines Vaterbruders Johann Kapp (s. d. vor. Art.) gebildet, studirte 1783—86 in Erlangen unter Harles, Pfeiffer, Breyer und Meusel neben Theologie die Humaniora; 1788 Tertius, 1791 Conrector am Gymnasium zu Hof, starb er am 7. April 1793. Zu der zweiten Ausgabe seines Onkels von Pomponius Mela verfertigte er den geographischen Inder und zu dessen Ausgabe des Valerius Maximus die bibliographische Einleitung. Selbständig edirte er neben kleineren Abhandlungen vorwiegend philologischen Inhalts, „Cl. Rutilii Namatiani itinerarium sive de reditu", Erlangae 1786, „Minucii Felicis Octavius“, Plaviae 1794, „Aristotelis de mundo“, Altenburgi 1792.
