    Kiesling: Johann Gotth. K. (auch Kisling), Advokat und sächsischer Notarms, der Mineralogie Beflissener und eifriger Mineralog, vielfach verwechselt mit →Johann Kiesling, Dr. der Theologie und Prof. der Philosophie in Erfurt (geb. 1663, † 1715), welcher zwar auch eine kleine mineralogische Abhandlung „Disputationes de admirandis naturae in regno minerali conspicuis“, 1698, schrieb, aber sonst für die mineralogische Wissenschaft nicht von Bedeutung ist, wol auch mit dem Jesuiten Johannes Kisling, Dr. und Professor der Philosophie in Prag (geb. 1713, † 1748), von dem gleichfalls eine Publication mineralogischen Inhalts herrührt: „Compendium physicae experimentalis de corporibus mixtis mineralibus“, 1748. Der Erstgenannte, über dessen Verhältnisse wenig bekannt ist, lebte um die Hälfte des 18. Jahrhunderts und schrieb verschiedene bemerkenswerthe Schriften über mineralogische und montanistische Gegenstände: „Relatio practica de arte probatoria mineralium et metallorum“, 1741, von welcher 1752 eine 2. Aufl. erschien; dann: „De corporibus mineralibus Bohemiae“, 1747, „Nachrichten von dem Bergbau und Schmelzwesen in der Grafschaft Mannsfeld, wie nämlich ersterer geführt, letzteres traktirt wird, nebst einer Erzählung von Muthmaßungen auf Bergwerke, der Wünschelruthe, Kuxhändler etc.“, 1747. „Magazin oder Vorrathskammer zu Wirthschaften für Mannspersonen und Frauenzimmer“, 1752.
