Biography
Meißnisches Uradelsgeschlecht, seit dem 14. Jahrhundert im Pleißener Lande nachweisbar. Von der Mitte des 15. Jahrhunderts an bis 1657 war ein Zweig in Ostpreußen ansässig. →Hans († 1540) war Deutschordenskomtur und Rat Herzog Albrechts (s. Literatur). Zu nennen sind ferner: →Eustachius († 1498), magdeburgischer Marschall, →Christoph († 1532), Domherr zu Mainz und Meißen, →Johann Bernhard († 1592), Archipresbyter zu Mainz, →Hans Georg (1707–73), altenburgischer Landjägermeister, →Georg Carl Gottlob (1708–77), preußischer Generalleutnant (s. Priesdorff I, S. 472-74, Porträt), →Christoph Friedrich (1710–94), württembergischer Generalleutnant und Gouverneur der Festung Hohentwiel, Taufpate →Schillers, →Hans Friedrich (1735–1800), altenburgischer Oberforstmeister.
