    Die Familie stammt aus Bibra in der Goldenen Aue. Zu ihr gehören auch Dr. med. →Karl Friedrich August (1821–93), russischer Staatsrat und Schriftsteller in Riga, →Johann Christian (1754–1800), Domprediger in Naumburg, dann Superintendent in Weißenfels, und dessen Sohn →Karl (1784–1841), Schriftsteller und Übersetzer (Petrarca, Tasso, →Dante) (s. ADB VII).
