  • Biography

    A. war der Nachfolger seines Vaters in der Wiener Firma, verband sich mit dem Musikverleger T. Mollo zur Firma „Tranquillo Mollo & Co.“, erwarb 1802 von seinem künftigen Schwiegervater →Carlo A. (s. 2) das Wiener Stammhaus am Kohlmarkt und wurde 1804 nach Trennung von Mollo dessen Alleininhaber. Er verband sich 1804-16 mit Pietro|Cappi, 1810-24 mit Carlo Boldrini. Er verlegte u. a. Schubert (Rondo brillant für Violine und Klavier op. 70), legte die berühmte Original-Meisterhandschriftensammlung des Hauses an mit Werken von Haydn, Mozart, Schubert und über 80 Handschriften von Beethoven (Missa solemnis, 5. Symphonie, Teile des Fidelio).
