    Schwäbisches Adelsgeschlecht, eines Stammes mit von Mentzingen und von Helmstatt, zur Schwäbischen Reichsritterschaft, Kanton Kraichgau, gehörig. Stammburg Ravensburg bei Sulzfeld (Baden). Zur Familie gehören unter anderem: →Ludwig (1787–1849), badischer Oberst (s. Badische Biographie I, 1875, S. 316), →August (1809–62), badischer Generalmajor (s. ADB IX), und →Friedrich (1854–96), Professor, Kunsthistoriker, Direktor der Sammlungen Veste Coburg (s. BJ III, Totenliste 1896, Literatur).
