Biographical Presentation
Nach dem frühen Tode ihres Verlobten, Philibert von Savoyen (1482), und dem Scheitern ihrer Heirat mit Herzog Albrecht IV. von Bayern und Johann, dem Sohn des Matthias Corvinus, mußte B. ihrem Oheim Lodovico il Moro zur Legalisierung der von ihm usurpierten Herrschaft über Mailand dienen. Um den Preis seiner Belehnung handelte König Maximilian schließlich im März 1494 die Braut ein, die ihm eine Mitgift von 400 000 Dukaten brachte. Ungeliebt und vernachlässigt, führte B. seitdem ein freudloses Dasein, ohne jemals politischen Einfluß zu erlangen.
