    Praetorius: Christoph P., eigentlich Schulze, auch Scultetus, geboren am 11. oder 12. (getauft am 13.) November 1631 zu Stendal als Sohn des Domdiaconus Johannes P., lebte als „Kämmerer und Freisaß“ in seiner Vaterstadt und starb im October (begraben am 6. October) 1713 ebenda. Er hat geistliche Lieder gedichtet, von denen sich acht mit den Buchstaben C. P. unterzeichnet in dem Gesangbuche: „Das Rauchopfer der geistlichen Priester“, Stendal 1698, befinden. Wahrscheinlich ist er auch bei der Herausgabe dieses Gesangbuches betheiligt gewesen. Sein bekanntestes Lied ist „Christe, wahres Seelenlicht, deiner Christen Sonne"; doch haben auch andere seiner Lieder weitere Verbreitung gefunden.
