    Planck: Stephan P., aus Passau in Baiern gebürtig, hatte in einer Buchdruckern in Deutschland die neuerfundene Kunst erlernt, und kam dann 1470 nach Rom, wo neben den beiden ersten Druckern in Italien, Sweynheim und Pannartz, auch Ulrich Hahn aus Ingolstadt seit 1467 die Druckkunst ausübte Bei diesem war P. mehrere Jahre als Drucker thätig, begründete aber 1479 eine eigene Officin, die bis 1499 in seinem Besitze war. Er entwickelte während dieser Zeit eine rege Verlagsthätigkeit, und scheint besonders auch die populäre juristische Litteratur gepflegt zu haben. So ging aus seiner Presse unter anderem das „Formulare instrumentorum“ hervor, das nicht weniger als sechs Mal aufgelegt ward, 1482. 1484. 1487, 1490, 1495 und einmal ohne Zeitangabe. Auch das „Formularium procuratorum et aduocatorum curiae Romanae“ druckte P. 1484 und aufs Neue 1491; außerdem veröffentlichte er auch 1486 den „Processus Satanae“. Weitere Nachrichten über Planck's Lebensgang und Tod sind nicht bekannt; ebenso vermag man auch nichts darüber anzugeben, in welchem Verhältniß obiger P. zu dem 1486 als Drucker in Ulm thätigen Adam P. gestanden hat.
