    Wertheim: Theodor W., geboren am 25. December 1820 in Wien, Dr. phil., Chemiker, Entdecker des Coniins. Er war Privatdocent in Wien, dann 1853—1860 Professor an der Universität zu Pest, dann wieder in Wien, ging von da 1861 nach Graz; kehrte im Mai 1864 nach Wien zurück, starb aber schon am 6. Juli 1864 daselbst. Correspondirendes Mitglied der Wiener Akademie der Wissenschaften. Er veröffentlichte zahlreiche Untersuchungen über das Knoblauchöl, über Piperin, Chinin, Coniin in Liebig's Annalen der Chemie.
