Biography

Clossius: Johann Friedrich C., Arzt, 1735 in Marbach (Würtemberg) geboren, lebte, nachdem er längere Zeit im Haag, in Brüssel und verschiedenen Städten Deutschlands prakticirt hatte, zuletzt in Hanau, wo er im Juni 1787 starb. — C. hatte sich eine classische und ästhetische Bildung zu eigen gemacht, war ein poetisches Talent und hat die poetische Ader auch in seinen, übrigens unbedeutenden med. Schriften (vgl. das Verzeichniß derselben in Biogr. med. III. 287) zur Geltung gebracht, die in lateinischer Sprache geschrieben, fast sämmtlich in Versen verfaßt sind.
