  • Biography

    Voppel: Friedrich A. H. V., Psychiater, wurde am 25. November 1813 in Dresden geboren. Von 1862—1879 war er Director der königl. sächsischen Landesanstalt in Colditz. Er starb am 19. December 1885 in Nossen. Außer durch vielseitige Thätigkeit für die Anstalt hat er sich ein dauerndes Verdienst erworben durch die Gründung der landwirthschaftlichen Irrencolonie Zschadraß|im J. 1867; es war dies nach der Errichtung Ginums durch Snell (1864) die erste in größerem Maßstabe in Deutschland durchgeführte Irrencolonie.
