    Christenius: Johann Ch., Hofcantor und Musikus zu Altenburg, aus Buttstedt in Thüringen stammend. In den Jahren 1609—21 sind von ihm im Druck erschienen: „Select. et Nova Cantio etc. 6 voc.“, Jenae 1609; „20 anmuthige geistl. Text etc. 4 voc.“, Leipzig 1616; „Gülden Venus-Pfeil, neue weltl. Lieder, Teutsche und Polnische Tänze“, Leipzig 1619; „Symbola Saxonica, Fürstl. Personen tägliche Gedenksprüche 3 voc.“, Leipzig 1620; „Complementum und dritter Theil Fest- und Aposteltägiger evangel. Sprüch, so Melchior Vulpius übergangen, 4—8 voc.“, Erffurdt 1621; „Omnigeni mancherley Manier neuer weltlicher Lieder, Paduanen etc.“, Erffurdt 1621. Von seinem Leben scheint sonst nichts bekannt zu sein.
