    Carl: Adolf C., Landschaftsmaler, geb. 1813 zu Altona, bildete sich anfänglich in München, dann aber in Düsseldorf, welcher Aufenthalt für seine Kunstweise entscheidend wurde. Hierauf besuchte er Italien und † bereits 29. April 1845 zu Rom. Seine Landschaften, meist Motive aus Salzburg, Tirol und Italien, machten ihn seiner Zeit zu einem Liebling des Publicums. Man rühmte ihnen schöne Totalauffassung, Grazie in der Form und zarte Harmonie der Farbe nach; auf die Form im Einzelnen legte er wenig Gewicht, wie er überhaupt mit Leichtigkeit arbeitete.
