    Neuman: Christian N., Maler zu Köln, wo er am 27. April 1632 als zünftiger Meister aufgenommen wurde, starb daselbst am 26. Mai 1663. Er war bei seinen Zeitgenossen besonders beliebt durch seine kleinen Oelbildnisse auf Kupfer, welche Lebenswahrheit mit feiner Ausführung verbinden. Das städtische Museum in Köln besitzt sein lebensgroßes Bildniß in Halbfigur mit der Beischrift: Christianus Neuman aetatis 56. obiit A°. 1663. 26. Maji. Auf der Brust trägt er drei goldene Bildnißmedaillen, wahrscheinlich Ehrengeschenke hoher Herren, die ihn beschäftigt hatten. Ob er das Bild selbst gemalt habe, darf man stark bezweifeln, da es eine nur mittelmüßige Arbeit ist.
