    Merowech III., Söhnlein Chlothachars II., ward von seinem Vater, der selbst damals (im J. 604) erst zwanzig Jahre, dem Heere des Majordomus Landerich beigesellt, welches Theuderich II. (596—613), Sohn des Childibert II. (575—596), im Gebiete zwischen Seine und Loire angriff, aber bei Etampes, südlich von Paris, geschlagen ward. M. ward hiebei gefangen und, angeblich auf Befehl Brunichildens, getödtet. — Dahn, Urgeschichte III.
