  • Biography

    Aldenburgk: Johann Georg A., ein Coburger, nahm, nachdem er in Jena studirt hatte, 1623 auf der von Admiral Willekes geführten holländischen Flotte Dienste als Gefreiter und machte bis 1625 den Krieg in Brasilien gegen die Spanier mit, dessen Hauptereigniß die Eroberung und der Wiederverlust von S. Salvador bildete. Er verfaßte eine Schilderung dieser Expedition, welche im 13. Theil von Bry's America, Frankf. bei Merian, 1628 gedruckt ward.
