    Mayer: Josef M., geb. am 4. Decbr. 1741 zu Bamberg, hier † am 14. Octbr. 1814. 1762 bei den Jesuiten zu Mainz eingetreten, Lehrer am Gymnasium hierselbst, 1770—1773 Professor der Theologie in Heidelberg, 1773 hier Doctor und 1771 Bibliothekar, nach Aufhebung seines Ordens Hofkaplan in Mannheim und Pagenhofmeister, 1787 Präbendat bei U. L. F. in Bielefeld, seit 1801 in Bamberg lebend. „Diss. de imperatore statutorum in ecclesiis germanicis protectore“, Heidelberg 1772.
