    Bromeis: Johann Konrad B., Chemiker, geb. 6. Febr. 1820 zu Cassel, 1853 Privatdocent, 1853 außerordentlicher Professor in Marburg, † 3. Jan. 1862 in der Wasserheilanstalt Mühlbach im Odenwald. Er schrieb unter anderm ein „Lehrbuch der Chemie“, 1853; untersuchte den Fichtelit und andere Mineralien, auch die Quelle von Nauheim; studirte die Oxydation der Fettsäuren etc. Er entdeckte die Terebinsäure. Seine Arbeiten finden sich in Poggendorff's und in Liebig's Annalen. — Gottlieb Theodor B., Chemiker, Bruder des vorigen, geb. 31. Oct. 1823 zu Cassel, † 20. Aug. 1865 als Director der Provinzialgewerbeschule zu Crefeld. Seine Arbeiten über Bleisalze, die Säuren des Stickstoffs, die Soolquellen von Linden etc. finden sich in Liebig's Annalen.
