  • Biography

    A. lebte bis 1816 als Kaufmann in London (der „englische A.“). Mit bedeutendem Vermögen zurückgekehrt, sammelte er alte holländische Gemälde (Lucas van Leiden, Rembrandt) und ebensolche Graphik, die er dem Bremer Kunstverein (Kunsthalle in Bremen) vermachte.
