Biography
Brand: Adam B., geb. zu Lübeck, machte schon früh Handelsreisen nach Moskau, ging 1692 mit dem Holländer Ysbrand Ides als Gesandter nach China, wurde 1697 preußischer Hof- und Commerzienrath und sollte als preußischer Gesandter nach Persien gehen, als der Tod des Königs 1713 die Abreise vereitelte. Brand's Reisen erschienen: 1697, 1698 und vermehrt 1712, 1723, 1734; Holländ. 1699; Franz. abgekürzt und mit Zus. 1699; Engl. in der Collection of voyages 1704. Vol. II.
