    Boye: Peter B., auch Boyghe, Boighe, Bogenius, Decretorum et artium Dr. und herzoglicher Professor in Rostock, großer Gegner der Reformation. Geb. zu Nortorp, Kirchspiel Wesselburen in Diethmarschen, in Rostock immatriculirt 17. Oct. 1498, war er schon Rector der Universität im Oct. 1508; im ganzen bekleidete er achtmal die Würde; er war ständiger Syndicus oder Generalmonitor der Universität, daneben seit 1516 herzoglicher Rath, erreichte das Decanat des Domcapitels, das Schweriner Canonicat des Archidiaconus von Waren und war zuletzt bischöflicher Generalofficial zu Rostock. Den Reformationsbewegungen leistete er, wie die Universität überhaupt, kräftigen Widerstand bis zum Aufruhr von 1531, vor dem er, anscheinend Drohungen weichend, sein Decanat aufgab, jedoch Official blieb. Er starb während seines achten Rectorats am 17. März 1542. |
