    Betichius: Johann B., geb. 18. Oct. 1650 in Steckby, einem Anhalt-Zerbstischen Dorfe, Pfarrsohn; ebendaselbst, nachdem er in Wittenberg studirt hatte, Pastor von 1689 an bis an sein Ende, 13. Juni 1722. Im Zerbster Gesangbuch stehen unter seinem Namen mehrere Lieder (z. B. „Auf, ihr Christen, jauchzt und springt", „Träufelt, ihr Himmel“, etc.), unter denen das Berufslied „Das walte Gott, der helfen kann“ die weiteste und beständigste Verbreitung gefunden hat.
