    Berger: Johann August edler Herr von B., jüngster Sohn von Johann Heinrich von B. (s. d.), geb. zu Wittenberg 27. August 1702, studirte zu Halle und Leipzig Jurisprudenz, lebte dann bei seinem Vater in Wien und besorgte im Auftrage fürstlicher Häuser deren Angelegenheiten am kaiserlichen Hofe, erhielt 1723 den Titel eines hessen-darmstädtischen geh. Legationsrathes, wurde 1729 Hof- und Kanzlei-Rath in Celle, wozu 1749 der Charakter als königlich großbrittanischer geh. Justiz-Rath, 1759 eine ordentliche Beisitzerstelle am Hofgericht zu Celle trat, † 7. Juli 1770. Verheirathet mit einer geb. v. Hugo. — Biographie und Schriftenverzeichniß bei Jugler, Beiträge I. S. 77 ff. Von den Schriften bemerkenswerth: „Succincta commentatio de imperio maris Adriatici“, Lips. 1723. 4. (politische Gelegenheitsschrift, auch ins Italienische übertragen); „Jus apaganiale“. Lips. 1725. 4. — „Collatio Codicis iuris Alamannici tam provincialis quam feodalis eiusque antiquissimi de anno 1434 cum Msto Argentoratensi 1505 impresso“ etc. Lips. 1726. 4.
