    Hofer: Joseph Anton H., geb. zu Kastelruth am 19. Mai 1742. gest. 1820, studirte am Gymnasium zu Brixen und Innsbruck, hier Philologie|und Jurisprudenz, Dr. phil., 1765 zu Brixen Priester, 1772 daselbst Gymnasialprofessor und Domherr, nach 4 Jahren Professor des Kirchenrechts und Consistorialrath, 1779 Canonicus bei U. L. F., 1782 k. k. Gubernialrath und Referent in geistlichen Sachen zu Innsbruck, kehrte 1786 zu seinem Canonicat und der Professur am Lyceum in Brixen zurück, trat nach dessen Aufhebung 1807 in Pension als fürstbischöfl. geistl. Rath. — Er schrieb außer einigen Reden u. dgl. „Conspectus juris ecclesiastici; Zegeri Bern. Van-Espen Jus eccles. univ. ad usum auditorum in compendium redactum“, Brix. 1781. 4 T.
