  • Biography

    Die Familie stammt aus der Reichsstadt Gelnhausen, wo sie viele Ratsherren stellte. In Frankfurt am Main wurde →Matthäus (1598–1683) kurkölnischer Postmeister, dessen Sohn →Dominikus (1644–1710) Direktor der Kölner Post, Ratsherr, Schöffe und Älterer Bürgermeister (1702 und 1708) und erhielt 1686 den Reichsadel. Dessen Sohn →Johann Matthäus (1680–1719) war ebenfalls Direktor der Kölner Post.
