Barkow: August Friedrich B., Jurist, geb. 28. Jan. 1791 zu Trent auf Rügen, studirte seit 1807 zu Greifswald, Göttingen, Berlin; 1813—1816 Erzieher des späteren preußischen Ministerpräsidenten Graf Adolf Arnim; 1817 Dr. iur. und bald darauf Privatdocent zu Berlin; 1819 außerordentlicher Professor zu Greifswald für Strafrecht, Strafproceß, römisches Recht; 1827 ordentlicher Profeffor ebendaselbst, 1838 geheimer Justiz-Rath, 1839 Consistorialrath und Mitglied des Consistoriums. † 4. März 1861. Verheirathet 1819 mit Leopoldine Homeyer, der Schwester des berühmten Germanisten. Er schrieb: „Lex Romana Burgundionum. Ex iure Romano et Germanico illustr.“ etc. 1826. „De Davide Mevio narratio“ (Einladungsprogramm zur 4. Säcularfeier der Universität Greifswald. 1856); „Grundriß zu Vorlesungen über das neueste röm. Erbrecht“ (anonym. Greifsw. 1824).
