  • Biography

    Gschwandter: Andreas G., geb. am 12. Jan. 1696 in Stadelkirche (Oberösterreich), † am 25. Mai 1762 in Gleink, widmete sich dem geistliche Stande, studirte mathematische Wissenschaften, war von 1731—33 Professor der Mathematik an der Universität zu Salzburg und wurde 1735 zum Abt de Klosters Gleink in Oberösterreich gewählt. Außer der Erfüllung seiner geistliche Pflichten beschäftigte er sich mit Astronomie und schrieb eine Abhandlung „Erotemata physico-astronomica de cometis, anno 1744, quo cometa ex Andromeda egregiens terricolas terruit... proposita“ (anonym).
