  • Biography

    Gritsch: Johannes G. aus Basel, war Minorit, zeichnete sich durch Kenntnisse im canonischen Recht, der Philosophie und Exegese aus und erfreute sich großen Rufes als populärer Prediger. Er blühte unter Kaiser Sigismund um 1430 und hinterließ verschiedene Bände Musterpredigten in lateinischer Sprache: „Sermones de tempore", „de sanctis", „per quadragesimam“, „De passione domini“ u. a. Ein Theil davon ist gedruckt, die „Sermones per quadragesimam“, Ulm. 1476, Basil. 1477 und 1484, 1490, Lugdun. 1492, Paris. 1512, Viennae 1477 und 1581 Fol. Die „Sermones de tempore et de sanctis“, Lugdun. 1493 Fol.
