    Alte Braunschweiger Familie, zu der unter anderem gehören: →Wilhelm (1682–1761), Goldschmied (s. ThB), die Brüder →Johann Heinrich (1719–81) und →Christoph Julius (1731–94), beide Inhaber einer chemischen Fabrik (s. ADB IX), →Theodor (1810–86), Direktor der Ritterakademie in Lüneburg, Abgeordneter in der Frankfurter Nationalversammlung 1848/49, Direktor der Gelehrtenschule in Bremen bis 1866, dann Schuldirektor und Schulrat in Braunschweig (s. ADB 49), und →Wilhelm (1816–58), Schriftsteller, befreundet mit →Hebbel.
