    Mit den Söhnen →Franz Barings (1522–89) teilte sich die evangelische Theologenfamilie in eine hannoversche und eine Bremer Linie (s. ADB II). Aus der Bremer Linie gingen die englischen Barings hervor, deren Nachkommen das Bankhaus Baring Brothers in London gründeten. Nach Sir Francis Thornhill Baring, Erstem Lord der britischen Admiralität (1850), heißen das Baring Land und die Baring Bay.
