  • Biography

    Gerle: Konrad G., der älteste bekannte deutsche Lautenverfertiger, lebte um 1461 in Nürnberg. Er starb dort am St. Barbara-Abend 1521 und wurde auf dem St. Rochuskirchhof begraben. Seine Instrumente waren gesucht und wurden in Frankreich „Lutz d'Allemaigne“ (Luths d'Allemagne) genannt. Karl der Kühne ließ für seine joueurs de leut Fleury, Lenart und Maistre Wouter de Berchem durch den deutschen Kaufmann Holhans 3 solche Lauten für 52 Livres 10 Sols verschreiben.
