    Fischer: Johann Gottfried F., geboren zu Naundorf bei Freiberg am 13. Sept. 1751, bezog nach absolvirtem Gymnasium die Leipziger Universität, um dort von 1774—1777 Theologie und Musik zu studiren. Die Neigung zur letzteren überwog und so nahm er 1777 die Stelle eines Organisten an der Andreaskirche zu Eisleben an. 1788 wurde er dort zum Musikdirector und vierten Lehrer am Gymnasium ernannt. 1797 ging er in gleicher Eigenschaft nach Freiberg und wirkte dort höchst segensreich bis zu seinem Tode am 7. Sept. 1821. Er componirte mit Erfolg viel für seinen Wirkungskreis, so das „Vaterunser“ von Mahlmann, zwei Oratorien zum Charfreitag, mehrere Psalmen etc. Gedruckt hat man von ihm nur einige Claviervariationen und Orgelfugen.
