    Ackermann: Leopold A., mit seinem Klosternamen Petrus Fourerius, bibl. Archäolog, geb. in Wien 17. Nov. 1771, † daselbst 9. Sept. 1831. Am 10. Oct. 1790 trat er in den Orden der regulirten Chorherren zu Klosterneuburg und studirte dann 1791—95 in Wien. Darauf ward er Priester und Professor der oriental. Sprachen, der Archäologie und Hermeneutik am Stiftshof in Wien, 1800 auch Stiftsbibliothekar. 1802 zum Doctor der Theologie promovirt, erhielt er 1806 an der Universität die Professur für das Alte Testament, welche er als geschätzter Lehrer 25 Jahre bekleidete. — Er schrieb: „Introductio in libros Vet. Test.“ 1825 (eigentlich 3. Ausg. von J. Jahnii Introductio etc.); „Archaeologia bibl.“ 1826; „Prophetae minores perpet. annot. illustr.“ 1830.
