  • Biography

    Wohl zur gleichen Posener Familie gehört Richard Kandt (ursprgl. K., 1867-1918). Er studierte zunächst Medizin und dann afrikanische Sprachen und Geographie in Berlin. 1898-1900 unternahm er eine Forschungsreise nach Ruanda-Urundi, dem nordwestl. Teil von Deutsch-Ostafrika. Er entdeckte dabei die Quelle des Kagera-Nils. 1907-13 war er Resident von Ruanda (s. DBJ II, Totenliste). Alfred (1899-1979), Professor, Schriftsteller.
