    Niedersächsische Familie, aus der viele Maler hervorgegangen sind: →Gustav (1850–1910), Landschaftsmaler, dessen drei Kinder Änne (1885-1919), Malerin und Gebrauchsgraphikerin, →Peter (* 1886), Landschaftsmaler in München, dann in Toronto, und →Hans (* 1888), Architekt mit Großbauprojekten in Charlottenburg, Belgrad und Zagreb, ferner →Edmund (1814–72), Landschafts- und Bildnismaler (siehe ADB 16), dessen Sohn →Paul (1853–1910), Landschaftsmaler, und Enkel →Friedrich (1883–1946), Maler.
