Biography
Bauerngeschlecht im Vinschgau und im Burggrafenamt (Südtirol), das 1546 einen kaiserl. Wappenbrief erhielt. Zu ihm gehören: Franz (1677–1739), Wechsler und Handelsherr in Graz, Michael (1745–1807), OSB (als P. Innozenz) in Benediktbeuern, Professor, Musiker, Anna (1765–1836), heiratete 1789 den späteren Freiheitskämpfer Andreas Hofer († 1810, s. NDB IX), Joseph Alois (1769–1851), seit 1798 in bischöfl. Kanzlei in Brixen tätig (zuletzt Konsistorialrat), verfaßte Klavierstücke,|die stark von Mozart und Clementi beeinflußt sind (s. L), Josef (1770–1832), Priester, Heimatforscher, Matthias (1772–1850), Hauptmann der Algunder Schützenkompanie beim Aufstand 1809, Mitglied des Landesausschusses in Innsbruck, Joseph (1808–74), Priester (als P. Justinian), Landeshistoriker.
