    Eichmann: Johann Bernhard Christoph E., Rechtsgelehrter, geb. 1. Oct. 1748 zu Weimar, † 16. Januar 1817 in Altenburg. Er besuchte das Gymnasium seiner Vaterstadt, studirte seit 1767 in Jena und wurde daselbst 1772 Doctor der Rechte, dann Hofgerichts-Advocat, 1776 außerord. Professor der Rechte, 1782 Beisitzer des Schöffenstuhls und Syndicus der Universität, 1786 ging er als Regierungsrath nach Altenburg, wo er 1797 auch Consistorialrath, später Consistorial-Vicepräsident ward. Er schrieb: „Erklärungen des bürgerlichen Rechts|nach Anleitung des Hellfeldischen Lehrbuchs der Pandecten“, 1779—99, 5 Theile; „Rechtliche Bemerkungen und Ausführungen“, 1802, und gab Jacob Rave's „Principia universae doctrinae de praescriptione“, 1780, 3. Ausgabe 1790, mit Anmerkungen neu heraus.
