    Die Familie stammt aus Nordhausen am Harz, wo →Hans (1491–1558) Bürgermeister war. Ein Zweig kam 1742 nach Reval. Zu ihm gehören: →Dietrich Martin (1772–1861), Ältermann der Großen Gilde und Herausgeber der Reval. Öffentlichen Nachrichten, →Alexander (1810–76), Kaufmann und 1864-75 Bürgermeister von Reval, →Christian (1857–1914), Gründer der Holzwarenfabrik A. M. Luther, die dessen Sohn →Martin (1880–1963) weiterführte. →Ferdinand (1838–1910) war Oberpastor und Präsident des Ev. Vereins.
