Biographical Presentation
Barendsen: Dietrich B., niederländischer Maler, † 1592, der sich, nachdem er eine Zeit lang zu Venedig in Titians Schule gearbeitet hatte, zu Amsterdam niederließ. Marnix von Aldegonde stand in freundschaftlichem Verhältniß zu ihm. Sein berühmtestes Bild ist „Lucifer's Fall“. Es gibt von ihm ein Portrait Alba's. Der Tod überraschte ihn beim Malen.
