  • Biography

    B. studierte in München und Leipzig Physik, wo er 1905 bei →O. Wiener promovierte. Er wurde Assistent an der Universität Berlin bei H. Rubens, 1908 Privatdozent und 1910 Professor. 1921-39 war er ordentlicher Professor der Physik an der Landwirtschaftlichen Hochschule Berlin. - B.s Untersuchungen erstrecken sich vornehmlich über die Hyperfeinstruktur von Spektrallinien, über langsame Kathodenstrahlen, über magnetische ß-Strahlspektren radioaktiver Substanzen und über kürzeste elektrische Wellen (2 mm).
