    Johann Wilhelm (XII.), Herzog zu Sachsen, geb. am 16. März 1726 als zweiter Sohn des Herzogs Franz Josias von Sachsen-Coburg-Saalfeld und der Anna Sophia von Rudolstadt, trat in kursächsische Dienste, wurde 1744 Oberstlieutenant, zog mit dem sächsischen Heere nach Schlesien und fiel vermuthlich bei Striegau am 4. Juni 1745. Ueber die Art des Todes weiß man nichts. Die Leiche wurde nicht aufgefunden.
