    B. wirkte am Beginn seiner Laufbahn unter seinem Onkel →Johann Michael B. (s. 5) bei der Stiftskirche in St. Gallen mit. Als St. Gallischer Stiftsbaumeister erbaute er das Hofgebäude, die sog. Pfalz, in St. Gallen (1767), ferner etwa 20 kleinere Kirchen in der Umgebung von St. Gallen, darunter die originelle Kirche in Bernhardzell (Zentralbau mit 4 Apsiden, 1776), und den Konventbau in Mehrerau (1779).
