    Entstammt dem elsässischen Adelsgeschlecht.

  • Biography

    A. wurde 1416 Domherr, 1431 Stiftsdechant und anschließend Dompropst in Basel, sowie Propst von St. Michael in Lauterbach. Auf Grund seines Ansehens und seiner Bewährung während des Konzils von Basel war er vom 4.4.-18.11.1460 erster Rektor der neugegründeten Universität Basel, deren bedeutende Lehrer auf seine Anregung und Empfehlung hin berufen wurden.
