Anna Pfeiffer wuchs in Karlsruhe auf. Sie heiratete den Gymnasialprofessor Josef Leimbach ; und das Paar zog nach Posen. Im Ersten Weltkrieg kam ihr Mann ums Leben und sie zog nach Kriegsende wieder in die badische Heimat zurück. Fortan war sie mit drei kleinen Kindern alleine. Trotzdem fand sie Zeit ; sich für das Gemeinwohl zu engagieren: sie gründete und war 40 Jahre lang Vorsitzende eines Zweigvereins des katholischen Frauenbundes in Durlach. Anna Leimbach ist zusammen mit ihrem Sohn Dr. med. Hans F. Leimbach (1911–1974) und Anneliese Leimbach (1918–2000) auf dem Bergfriedhof Durlach beigesetzt. Engagiert in der katholischen Frauenbewegung.
