    Günther: Christian August G., geb. 1758 zu Schönstädt bei Langensalza, gest. den 16. Juli 1839 zu Berlin als geheimer Obertribunalrath. Er habilitirte sich 1781 als Privatdocent an der Universität Leipzig, wurde 1786 außerordentlicher, 1788 ordentlicher Professor der Rechte zu Helmstädt und herzoglich braunschweigischer Hofrath, 1804 Appellationsrath zu Dresden, 1815 Oberlandesgerichtsrath zu Naumburg. — Schriften: „Magazin für Rechtsgelehrte“, herausg. mit C. F. Otto. 4 Bde. Leipz. 1784—1786; „Dissertatio inaug. de furto domestico“, 1786; „Archiv für die theoret. und prakt. Rechtsgelehrsamkeit“, herausg. mit Th.
