    Mecklenburgisches Uradelsgeschlecht, das wahrscheinlich aus der Herrschaft Vlotho an der mittleren Weser stammt. Zu ihm gehören unter anderem Friedrich Freiherr von F. (1786-1867), bayerischer General der Kavallerie (s. Schärl), →Julius (1788-1856), preußischer Major, Botaniker, Mitglied der Leopoldina, →Gustav (1789–1864), sächsischer Geheimer Finanzrat und Direktor der ökonomischen Gesellschaft im Königreich Sachsen (s. ADB VII), →Karl Friedrich Theodor (1791–1871), preußischer Generalmajor (s.
