  • Biography

    Wohl auf Grund des guten Verhältnisses seines Vaters zu König Konrad III. und durch seine eigene Verschwägerung mit dem königlichen Haus erhielt beim Tode Walrams von Limburg 1139 nicht dessen Sohn Heinrich, sondern G. das Herzogtum Niederlothringen-Brabant. Heinrich versuchte zwar anfänglich, den Kampf gegen seinen Konkurrenten aufzunehmen, gab aber bald auf und beschränkte sich auf seine privaten Besitzungen.
