    Das Tiroler Adelsgeschlecht ist eines Stammes mit dem Trienter Ministerialengeschlecht v. Storo, das 1189 mit dem Schloß Lodron b. Tione belehnt wurde und dann diesen Namen annahm. Reichsgrafenstand 1452, Erbmarschall von Salzburg 1633. Die Familie stellte viele Domherren in Brixen, Trient und Salzburg sowie kaiserl. Offiziere. Zu ihr gehören: Johann Baptist († um 1550), kaiserl. Feldhauptmann (u. a. im Schmalkald. Krieg), →Paris († 1653), Erzbischof von Salzburg, Sebastian († 1643), Bischof von Gurk seit 1630, Franz († 1652), Bischof von Gurk seit 1643, →Franz Karl (1748–1828), Bischof|von Brixen seit 1791, →Karl Maria (1807–60), kärntner. Landtagsabgeordneter, →Konstantin (1806–80), Eisenindustrieller in Kärnten (s. ÖBL), →Caspar (1815–95), Landgerichtspräsident in Graz, 1870 und 1873-80 Landespräsident von Kärnten, 1870/71 Statthalter für Tirol und Vorarlberg (s. ÖBL), und →Karl (1840–1918), Konservator zur Erforschung der Kunst- und historischen Denkmale in Tirol.
